She also gardens, bakes, reads and exercises. But mostly Mo Knits.

Mo’s FO Super Bowl Sunday 2010

It’s Super Bowl Sunday. Mr. Hefti is a huge Green Bay fan, so no party for us.

He wants to focus on the game. Just the big guy and his big screen tv.

What am I doing? I’m so glad you asked. I’m making some of Mr. Hefti’s favorite old school appetizers.

We’re gonna have eggs, and they’re gonna be deviled!

I’m also doing a little knitting and social networking, because what’s game day without a little FB trash talk?

Since the computer is warm anyway, I thought I’d cook up a little blog post.

I finished my Hemlock Ring Blanket.

Feather & Fan. How awesome is that?!?

I made some project bags. The orange one is my favorite.

Hey look, there is my Featherweight cardigan. Still need to weave in ends.

The orange project bag was made using two shirt sleeves, and the remnant fabric from the blue bag.

These two bags are a little different from the one I made for Annie Kang.

Annie’s Bag was made from one of my husband’s favorite work shirts.

Annie was the winner of my second Buffalo Gold Contest. You remember, right?

I held a series of contests to celebrate the publication of my first pattern in Interweave Knits.

Speaking of Interweave…

The Interweave Knits pattern preview gallery is up for your viewing pleasure:

Of course, you can find Rain on the Prairie on Ravelry:

Here’s the one I made:

Remember there is one more Buffalo Gold Moon Lite giveaway. Keep your eyes peeled!

And I have heaps more exciting news to share with you.

Shhhh, it’s a secret.

Here’s a sneak peak:

A silk project bag to the first reader who correctly guesses what the above photo means to me.

If you have no idea, you won’t win, but go ahead and tell me what it means to you.

Mr. Hefti does the victory dance

And hey…the Packers won! Maybe you will too.

I'm an addict. I obsessively shop for yarn and pattern books, then knit like a fiend. When I'm not knitting something out of someone else's head, I'm thinking up designs of my own. When I grow up I want to be Elizabeth Zimmermann. On the rare occasions I'm not knitting, or thinking about knitting, or shopping for knitting, I sometimes bake, cook, garden, read, and exercise. The exercise is not by choice. I only do it to manage pain from a herniated disc. Exercise for me works better than Vicodin, and I highly recommend it.

  1. Congratulations to Mr Hefti on the Packers win!

Well, that bird is a Eurasian Jay and a European bird so does it mean you are coming to Europe? Or is your next pattern Jay based? What it means to me is that spring is coming!!

Anyway, I love your Hemlock Ring – it’s awesome. And the bag I would choose is the blue one to match my yarn (although I like them both).

    • Oooohhhh. Margaret! Good guess! I like the way you think. Mais, non. Je ne voyage pas à l’Europe. I would love a trip to the continent, but now is sadly not the time.

  2. Is that adorable little booger going to be your new mascot?!

  3. Well, don’t know what that lovely bird means to you, but I’m thinking of spring also. I am SOO looking foward to spring this year.

I really like Annie’s bag. Makes me think of those Hawaiian shirts. and your Rain on the Prairie is lovely, as is the model.

    • Aw, Harriet. You’re sweet. Thanks for saying you liked the Annie bag. It WAS a Hawaiian shirt before it was a project bag. The collar and button placket were wearing out, but the rest of the fabric was still good!!! I’ll tell Allegra you think she’s pretty. I think she’s pretty too. We’ll make her day!

  4. you are a rich woman indeed…rich in love, friendship, and fans, you go girl!

  5. Well, that’s a pity – you could’ve come to visit me here in Greece!!

And the Prairie Rain (or Rain on the Prairie) as Harriet says, is lovely!

    • The magazine named the piece Rain on the Prairie. I wish they had not done that. Prairie Rain had such a succinct ring to it.

  6. My first thought was “Spring :-)” I recently decided I needed some more small project bags (presently have only one) and you gave me some ideas. Loved your one out of the Hawaiin shirt. 🙂

  7. Hint: Those of you who guessed spring are on track, as Spring is a time of new beginnings.
You are allowed as many guesses as you’d like.

  8. OK Let’s try again. You have started something new – something to do with spring…new life? You are creating, you are moving?

  9. You have a new pattern coming out???

    • Oh gosh, Harriet, I hope I have a new pattern coming out. I submitted a (secret) design to a (secret) magazine, and I really hope they publish it. I haven’t heard, so this is not it.

  10. okay, my guess is its you and your hubbys lovebird…

  11. Are you starting a new job, a new business to do with knitting?
