A Match Made In Heaven

Yesterday I was feeling excited because I took the package containing my scarf and contracts to the Post Office and mailed them to Interweave Knits. For the first time in ages I finished something before deadline, and that was a load off my mind!

I have been thinking of trying Lantern Moon needles, but they are on the expensive side for me. Upon leaving the Post Office, I thought maybe I’d like reward myself for getting a pattern published, and being ahead of schedule. I decided to head to my nearest knit shop, Rumpelstiltskin, and pick up a pair of size 5’s. I had my heart set on rosewood, and Linda had them in 4’s, but she only had 5’s in ebony. Ebony!

This morning my head was buzzing with ideas, and I took out those lovely ebony needles. I searched the dresser where I store yarn, and pulled out a cone of Lingo from Artfibers. I fell in love with Lingo the moment I saw it, but after knitting about four inches on a little tank for myself, I was finished. I was not feeling the love anymore. Linen was too hard to handle. Not elastic, rough on my fingers. Not bueno.

This time I was using my special, special ebony needles. I’m telling you, this yarn and these needles are a  match made in heaven. No problemo. I can’t believe it: I am loving linen.
